What Is the Custom Fonts Plugin?

Custom Fonts by Hearten Made is a completely free WordPress plugin I built that lets you upload your own font files and use them as real typography choices inside of Kadence, right in the Customizer and in the Kadence Blocks font picker. No code, no developer, and no paid plugin required.

How to Add Custom Fonts to Kadence for Free

Here’s how it works:

Download the plugin. It’s free — you can grab the plugin here.
Install and activate it on your WordPress site, just like any other plugin.
Go to Appearance > Custom Fonts in your WordPress dashboard.
Upload your font file (.woff or .woff2) through your normal WordPress Media Library.
Fill in the font name, weight, and style for that file. If you have multiple weights (regular, bold, italic), upload them all under the same font family name and they’ll group together automatically.
Use your font — it now shows up as a normal typography option in the Kadence Customizer and the Kadence Blocks font picker.

Does This Work With the Free Version of Kadence?

Yes! This plugin works with the free version of the Kadence theme and the free version of Kadence Blocks. You don’t need Kadence Pro. It also works with any Kadence child theme, including any Hearten Made theme.
